All I Want for Christmas...

{via}

I saw this on Pinterest today and thought it was pretty funny. Of course, Christmas time should focus on family and cherishing the time we get to spend with them, and truthfully, that's what it is about for me. It's also a time to give gifts to the ones you love, including your significant other. I believe that one of the most common gifts that men get for women is jewelry.

Here's a joke for you:

An older, white haired man walked into a jewelry store one Friday evening with a beautiful young gal at his side. He told the jeweler he was looking for a special ring for his girlfriend.
The jeweler looked through his stock and brought out a $5,000 ring and showed it to him. The old man said, "I don't think you understand, I want something very special."
At that statement, the jeweler went to his special stock and brought another ring over. "Here's a stunning ring at only $40,000," the jeweler said.
The young lady's eyes sparkled and her whole body trembled
with excitement. The old man seeing this said, "We'll take it."
The jeweler asked how payment would be made and the old man stated, by check. " I know you need to make sure my check is good, so I'll write it now and you can call the bank Monday to verify the funds and I'll pick the ring up Monday afternoon," he said.
Monday morning, a very teed-off jeweler phoned the old man.
"There's no money in that account."
"I know", said the old man, "but can you imagine the weekend I had?".

Why do women love getting jewelry from men so much? This question has probably went through the minds of many males in our society. "Why is getting her diamonds so important?" It's really not important per se. It's not like if you don't buy her that diamond necklace she's been eyeing up for the past two months then you won't have a girlfriend anymore, but getting her that necklace will gain you some major brownie points.

There's just something about receiving a beautiful piece of jewelry from your man that makes you proud. You want to show it off to everyone because it just shows how much he loves you. I got a necklace from my boyfriend for Valentine's day last year. The cutest thing about it was how proud he was of picking it out for me. He picked this one because it had rubies in it, which is my birthstone.

The necklace is something I can always keep with me to remind me of how spoiled I am. Well, and how much I am loved ;)

SO to all you men out there that are getting nervous about what you are going to get your girlfriend/wife/significant other or even your mom/grandma/aunt for Christmas, RELAX. Don't be like this.

Be like this!

You can never go wrong with buying her a nice piece of jewelry. Diamonds are just an added bonus. (More brownie points like I stated above)

Happy shopping!
